The Center for Humanities is a department-level teaching and research unit affiliated to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Southern University of Science and Technology, China. The Center vigorously promotes cutting-edge and international research as well as studies that are linked and integrated with modern science and technology.
The Center for Humanities currently has research institutions as follows, and each institution plans to recruit one postdoctoral researcher in 2020, with a total of five positions in the center.

II. Requirements
1. An applicant must have obtained a doctoral degree within 3 years, or will obtain by this fall semester.
2. Age limit: an applicant should be a maximum 35 years old.

IV. Procedures
1. The Center shall keep the contents of the application materials confidential. The two recommendation letters need to be sent directly by the referees to rwkxzx@sustech.edu.cn and the professor’s email.
2. Deadline: November 2, 2020.
3. The Center will select by application materials, then organize an online interview. All applicants will be informed the recruitment result by November 30, 2020.
4. The SUSTech is open to accept application for postdoctoral position all the year round. The Humanities Center’s recruitment plan for 2021 of will be issued later.

VI. Annual Salary (For reference)
The postdoctoral position of SUSTech is a two-year full-time job. Part-time will not be accepted.
Applicants are expected to start the work in this fall semester (negotiable).
A. Basic Remuneration
1) The annual salary of a postdoc researcher will not be less than 335,000 RMB yuan, including 150,000 yuan (before tax) from the government of Guangdong Province and 60,000 yuan (after tax) from the government of Shenzhen City. Those who are especially outstanding can apply for the President Excellent Postdoc, and the annual salary can reach 507,000 yuan (including subsidies from Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City).
2) Benefits are offered according to the teaching and administrative staff standards. And social insurance and housing provident fund will be paid in accordance with the relevant regulations of Shenzhen City. Postdoctoral researchers who do not use the dormitory on campus or do not rely on the school to use the public rental housing in Shenzhen City can apply for housing subsidies, which are about 30,000 yuan per year.
B. Research Awards and Applicable Funds:
3) According to the specific research performance of a postdoc, the Center and research groups may endow award.
4) The research group will encourage and assist postdoctoral researchers to apply for the Chinese Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and other research funds.
The following are the funds applicable by a postdoctoral researcher:
① Guangdong Postdoctoral subsidies 300,000 yuan/biennial.
② Shenzhen Postdoctoral subsidies 120,000 yuan/biennial (after tax).
③ Innovative Talents Postdoctoral Support plan 630,000 yuan/biennial (incompatible with Guangdong In-station Postdoctoral subsidies)
④ Postdoctoral International Communication plan 600,000 yuan/biennial (incompatible with Guangdong In-station Postdoctoral subsidies)
⑤ China Postdoctoral Science Fund special subsidies (before entering station and in-station) 180,000 yuan (research fund).
⑥ China Postdoctoral Science Fund plan 120,000 yuan or 80,000 yuan (research fund).
⑦ Guangdong Overseas Young Postdoctoral Recruitment plan 600,000 yuan/biennial (incompatible with Guangdong In-station Postdoctoral and Shenzhen In-station Postdoctoral subsidies)
5) In the aforementioned funds, the 7th "Guangdong Overseas Young Postdoctoral Recruitment” project has special qualification requirements: those who have obtained doctorates from the top 200 universities in the world (according to the World University Rankings of Times, USNEWS, QS, and Shanghai Jiaotong University in the previous year, excluding domestic universities). After the application is successful, the provincial finance will give 600,000 yuan of living allowance in two years (which is incompatible with the 150,000 yuan of living allowance in Guangdong, and whether it is compatible with the 60,000 yuan of living allowance in Shenzhen City shall be subject to the regulations of Shenzhen City). In addition, the provincial finance will give 400,000 yuan of housing subsidies to postdoctoral researcher who have received funding from this project and will sign a work agreement or labor contract with employers in Guangdong Province after leaving the postdoc position and will promise to work in Guangdong for more than 3 consecutive years.
C. Follow-up Benefits and the Other Funding Opportunities
6) If a postdoctoral researcher chooses to stay in Shenzhen to engage in academic research and signs a labor (employment) contract with an enterprise or institution in Shenzhen for more than 3 years, he or she may apply for a research fund for postdoctoral who “come to Shenzhen and stay in Shenzhen.” The Shenzhen Municipal Government will give each person 300,000 yuan as their academic research start-up funding.
7) Postdoctoral researchers who have registered for permanent residence in Shenzhen can apply for Shenzhen’s one-off rental and living allowance of 30,000 yuan for doctors (tax is exempted. Application is available online).
8) According to their own conditions, postdoctoral researchers who works there or complete the postdoc job and decide to stay in Shenzhen can apply for Shenzhen Peacock Plan Class C Talents or Shenzhen Reserve Talents Plan and enjoy a five-year reward allowance of 1.6 million (tax is exempted).
