Responsibilities
  1. Engage in academic research. At present, the Center for Science and Civilization has three main focuses: first, the (social) history of science and environment, especially the history of science combined with environmental history; second, case studies under the guideline of STSE (Science, Technology, Society and Environment-Ecology); third, the study of civilization that treats civilization as a whole.
  2. Carry out teaching activities. Postdoctoral is required to be able to offer at least two courses independently during their stay in-station. First, regular courses in   classrooms in the fields of history of science, scientific ethics, science communication, and science education. Second, making use of the equipment of the virtual laboratory to develop new courses inside the laboratory.

Salary

Benefits		 It is two-year full-time job.
1） The annual salary of a postdoc will be not be less than 335,000 RMB yuan(about 415,00 plus insurances and subsidies), including 150,000 yuan (before tax) from Guangdong Province and 60,000 yuan (after tax) from Shenzhen City. Particularly outstanding people can apply for President Excellent Postdoc, with an annual salary of 507,000 yuan (including subsidies from Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City).
2） Social insurance and housing provident fund shall be paid in accordance with the relevant regulations of Shenzhen City. Benefits are paid according to the teaching and administrative staff standards. A postdoc researcher who does not use the dormitory on campus or do not rely on the school to use the public rental housing in Shenzhen City can apply for housing subsidies, which are about 30,000 yuan per year.
3） According to the specific research performance of a postdoc, the Center and research groups may endow award.
4） The research group provides research support and will assist postdoctoral to apply for (as the person in charge) the Chinese Postdoctoral Science Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation, and other research projects at all levels in Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City.
